About Codice Fiscale
About Codice Fiscale
The Italian term “codice fiscale” is commonly translated as “tax code”, “fiscal code” or “tax number”. It is an Italian identification code (Italian tax code). When referring to individuals, as opposed to entities, the codice fiscale is the result of a formula applied to a person’s name, date and place of birth.
The tax identification number provides a means of identification of foreign citizens in their relations with public authorities and other administrations. For individuals, it is determined on the basis of personal data and is the result of a formula applied to a person’s name, date and place of birth and is made up of an expression of 16 alphanumeric characters.
